FWO
Finn: Welcome again to the Wednesday Webcast, where every week the Internet Champion puts his title on the line against all comers. Max Danger was the first Internet Champion to push the idea, and the man he lost to, Brawn, was the first man to win the Internet Title on a match that was exclusive to FWOWrestling.com. Now Brawn will get his return match against the man who took the title from him at Legends, The Flying Frenchie.
Zhuk: Let’s not forget that these two men have been intertwined since the first show of the FWO’s return in 2009, where Brawn, making his FWO debut, beat the Frenchie, one of the FWO’s most celebrated competitors. Brawn beat him there, lost a hellacious match two months later, and stood triumphant against Pierre at Cyberslam, the marquee Pay-Per-View event on our calendar.
Finn: All true. In fact, Pierre took Brawn under his wing for several months leading up to Cyberslam, and many attribute Pierre’s changed nature as being influenced by the Wrought Iron Kid.
Zhuk: Then Brawn has a lot to answer for. I miss the guy who would poke you in the eye and then laugh at your inability to see straight.
Finn: Since Legends, Frenchie’s been putting the title up against all comers, and has done a remarkable job of retaining the title, but as the winner of this year’s Meltdown, he’s entitled to challenge for every other championship. You have to wonder when he’ll start jumping at those opportunities, and if that will cause a distraction that will cost him the Internet Title.
Zhuk: Brawn himself has been dealing with distractions as of late. It seems Superstar Vince Jacobs has been getting into his head and under his skin, which is not much of a surprise to anyone who’s ever spent time with Vince. Still, I think Brawn’s chances are pretty good here. Sometimes it’s all about match ups, and Brawn matches up very well against Pierre.
Finn: Outside of FWO Legend Black Quicksilver, I’m not sure I remember anyone flat out dominating The Flying Frenchie the way that Brawn has. Heading into tonight, their record is even at two and two, but Frenchie’s first win was riddled with some of the worst sort of chicanery, and the other came immediately after a spectacular Internet title defense by Brawn against Max Danger. In a straight one on one wrestling contest, Brawn’s got the edge.
Zhuk: Which just leaves the question: do we see a straight wrestling match tonight? Last week Spike Saunders threw Pierre all over the arena. Is he prepared to play this one straight, or will he dig into his bag of tricks to retain the Internet Championship?
Finn: We’re about to find out. Let’s go to Stevie Richards in the middle of the ring. Stevie!
Richards. The following match is for the FWO Internet Championship!
Richards: Coming down to the ring first, the challenger, from Breaksgood Iowa. He stands six feet, four inches tall, and weighs 250 pounds. He is a former FWO Internet Champion. Brawn!
Richards: And his opponent, from Toulouse France. Standing six feet, four inches tall, and weighing in at 242 pounds. He is the FWO Internet Champion, The Flying Frenchie, Pierre Delacroix.
Finn: Our match is underway, as Brawn and Frenchie slap hands in the center of the ring. Collar and elbow tie up to start things off. Both men are jockeying for position.
Zhuk: Frenchie trying to use his height advantage and leverage to move Brawn, but the kid’s just too strong.
Finn: Indeed, and Brawn is backing Frenchie into a corner. The referee is telling him to release, and Brawn does, both hands in the air. Nice clean break from Brawn.
Zhuk: Dumb move. Take your shots when you can get them.
Finn: Some people respect the rules.
Zhuk: Some people believe in Bigfoot.
Finn: Back in the middle of the ring, they lock up again, and Frenchie immediately cinches a headlock. Brawn tries shoving Frenchie out of it, but his raw power isn’t helping here.
Finn: Now Frenchie using his free hand to grab Brawn’s wrist, and a standing switch to a hammerlock. Behind Brawn, he’s now forcing the Wrought Iron Kid sternum first into the corner.
Finn: The official telling him the same thing he told Brawn, and starting a five count to release him.
Zhuk: Look at that gleam in his eye! Frenchie’s winding up for a big forearm shot to Brawn’s unprotected skull.
Zhuk: C’mon!
Finn: Pierre backing off, and letting Brawn out of the corner unmolested. They lock up for a third time, and it’s a scoop and a slam by Brawn.
Zhuk: Christ, did you see Frenchie bouncing off the mat?
Finn: Brawn not giving Pierer much time to think about it. He’s got him up again, forearm shots to the chest, driving him backwards. Whip to the ropes, Frenchie rolls under a clothesline on the return, but not a rolling elbow on the trip back.
Finn: Frenchie stumbles back, and now forward again…HUGE powerslam by Brawn. Cover gets two.
Zhuk: There, now that’s what I mean. Brawn caught Pierre clean with that elbow, and the powerslam definitely surprised him. Maybe he didn’t get a three count out of the attempt, but he took his shot when he could, and Frenchie nearly lost the Internet title already. We talk about rookie mistakes, but veterans have seen enough to know when they dodged a bullet, and if Brawn plays his cards right, he’ll have Frenchie walking on eggshells for a little bit.
Finn: Both men back up. Brawn throws a wild haymaker that Frenchie ducks. Pierre peppering Brawn with some kicks to the side.
Finn: Brawn catches one, and, is that a Hogan finger wag?
Zhuk: You better believe it, brother!
Finn: Brawn pulls Pierre in…Belly to Belly Suplex!
Zhuk: No cover from Brawn this time. Missed opportunity by the former Internet Champion.
Finn: He’s yanked Pierre back to his feet…atomic drop.
Finn: Pierre stumbles away, but Brawn overtakes him. Big right hand, ducked by the Frenchie.
Finn: Chop by Pierre, returned by Brawn. Another from Frenchie, and again returned by Brawn.
Zhuk: I just wish these crowds would stop whooing. His been retired for years, let it go.
Finn: Frenchie getting the better of the exchange, and those chops are giving way to European uppercuts. Brawn staggering back into the ropes.
Zhuk: Overpowering Brawn. Not quite what I expected.
Finn: Frenchie’s got momentum. He’s not a multiple time Internet, Hardcore, Tag Team, Cruiserweight, and World Champion by random chance. Brawn seemed prepared for Frenchie’s speed and agility, so he’s catching him off guard with the striking game.
Zhuk: Guess again, Chris.
Finn: Brawn caught a knee lift from Pierre, and drove him to the mat with a spinebuster.
Finn: One!
Finn: Two!
Finn: Just two for Brawn, who’s now got Frenchie by the wrist. He’s got arm control now, and has rolled Pierre onto his stomach.
Finn: Brawn settling in for an armbar, but he’s got great leverage from that position.
Zhuk: An astounding amount of torque, no doubt, but I’d be happier if he just cracked Frenchie in the skull.
Finn: Frenchie fighting back, pushing up on the mat with his free arm to relieve the tension.
Finn: Now Brawn floats over, securing a headlock on the crafty veteran.
Zhuk: He’s going to regret that, Frenchie’s already squeezing out of it.
Finn: Freed now, Pierre positions his knee in Brawn’s back as he grabs hold of his jaw.
Finn: Brawn using his hands to pry off Frenchie’s…successfully!
Finn: Both men back up. High kick to Brawn’s face catches him by surprise, and the rookie sent to the ropes.
Finn: Frenchie follows behind, and a leg lariat sends both men tumbling to the floor.
Zhuk: Here we go. Let’s see what they can do out there!
Finn: Frenchie first to his feet, and he’s pulling Brawn up. Wrapping up the younger man, he droves him spine first into the ring apron.
Finn: Now he’s got an arm, and he whips him to the barricade. These men getting awfully close to us.
Zhuk: Maybe they just need some expert advice. (Yelling) Brawn, stop letting him do that!
Finn: I’m sure he never would have thought of that on his own.
Zhuk: It’s working. Big overhand right by the Wrought Iron Kid, and a short arm clothesline sends Pierre to the floor.
Finn: Brawn mounting Pierre, and raining down lefts and rights.
Finn: He’s doing a number on Frenchie, but he’ll need to get this back in the ring if he wants a second reign as Internet Champion. Our official is already up to six, with a very generous count.
Finn: Brawn relenting, yanking Frenchie to his feet. Overhead press…
Finn: …he’s walking around ring side, with Frenchie over his head. That’s a hell of a display by Brawn.
Zhuk: He needs to do something, though.
Finn: Brawn now pressing him up and down, but Pierre is really struggling up there.
Zhuk: The word you’re looking for is flailing.
Finn: Frenchie escapes, sliding down Brawn’s back, and quickly slides back into the ring. He must have been getting flashbacks from what Saunders did to him last week.
Finn; Brawn follows in, and Frenchie nails him with a forearm blast as he steps into the ring. Snap suplex by Frenchie, and Pierre’s already back to his feet.
Finn: Brawn up to his hands and knees, and Pierre knocks him over with a field goal kick to the ribs.
Finn: Lightning quick elbow drops to Brawn’s sternum, and you can feel the momentum shifting to Frenchie.
Finn: Pierre to the corner, quickly ascending the ropes. He measures off Brawn, and leaps off the top turnbuckle.
Finn: 450 Splash!
Zhuk: No one home!
Finn: Brawn rolled out of the way at the last possible second.
Zhuk: Both men sucking wind on the mat, and the ref is starting his ten count.
Finn: Looking at that replay, Frenchie’s left foot caught Brawn’s temple as the Wrought Iron Kid rolled out of the way.
Finn: Our referee is at four, and Pierre is struggling to his feet.
Finn: He’s leaning in the corner, and he looks like he’d be satisfied to take the count out.
Finn: Six.
Finn: Seven, Brawn’s starting to move.
Finn: Eight, Brawn’s up to one knee.
Finn: Nine….Brawn is up, breaking the count.
Zhuk: He’s not out of the woods yet. The official checking with him to make sure that he can safely continue. And Pierre does not want to give him that time to recover.
Finn: Pierre trying to get the match going, and now our ref is standing between the two men, trying to separate them.
Finn: Goodnesss! He was so focused on getting Frenchie back, that he didn’t see that massive blow to Pierre’s head from Brawn. Frenchie’s knees buckled a little there.
Zhuk: That’s what I want to see.
Finn: Brawn driving Frenchie backwards, with more hard shots to the body. In the corner now…oooh, slamming Frenchie’s head against the turnbuckle.
Finn: Our ref trying to get them out of the corner, but Brawn’s ignoring it. Frenchie slumped in the corner, with Brawn climbing to the second corner. The crowd counts along with each punch.
Finn: And now Pierre rakes Brawn across the eyes to stop him!
Zhuk: He’s just doing this crowd a favor. Most of them don’t have enough fingers to count to ten. That’s what happens when your mommy is also your aunt.
Finn: Moving on. Frenchie with a throat thrust, and now Brawn is gasping for air, and the official interjecting.
Zhuk: Probably threatening to toss the match if these two don’t calm down. What’s the fun in that?
Finn: Brawn has recovered, telling the ref that he’s okay to continue, and both men are circling now.
Finn: Frenchie shoots in for a single leg take down, captured by Brawn.
Finn: Hammerhead Drop!
Finn: No! Frenchie slips out of Brawn’s grip, and rolls him up from behind for a schoolboy!
Finn: Kickout at two by Brawn!
Finn: Frenchie grabbing Brawn, bringing him up for the Loire Valley Driver, and this time Brawn escapes.
Finn: Frenchie turns around, and absolutely kills Brawn with a superkick.
Zhuk: Frenchie not satisfied by nearly knocking out Brawn’s teeth. Here comes the move he stole from me, Déjà Vu.
Finn; One!
Finn: Two!
Finn: Big kickout by Brawn at two! He grabs Frenchie’s head, small package by Brawn!
Finn: One!
Finn: Two!
Finn: Frenchie reverses! One!
Finn: Two!
Finn; No! Just two! Both men to their feet, and Pierre goes to poke Brawn in the eye, but the younger man just swats the arm away and ducks behind Frenchie. Bridging German Suples!
Finn: One!
Finn: Two!
Finn: Just two again. Brawn brings Frenchie back up.
Finn: Hammerhead Drop, and this time it connects!
Finn: One!
Finn: Two!
Finn: THREE! New champion, we have a new champion! Brawn is overwhelmed with emotion in the ring, but something’s amiss, the official has not called for the bell.
Zhuk: Something’s definitely up.
Finn: The official talking to Brawn, who’s looking quite deflated. Can we see that again?
Finn: The Hammerhead Drop catches Pierre clean…but too close the ropes. Pierre got his left foot in the ropes just before the three count.
Finn: Brawn not giving up, however. He’s got Frenchie up in the air, and now he’s placing him on the top turnbuckle. Climbing up from the inside is Brawn.
Finn: Superplex!. And a cover!
Finn: One!
Finn: Two!
Finn: Thr…no, no, Pierre kicked out just before the three count.
Zhuk: He’s the Frenchie. Maybe a little too goodie goodie these days, but he knows what it means to be a champion. If Brawn wants to topple him, as well as he’s been doing, he’ll have to pull out all of the stops.
Finn: It looks like he’s doing jus that. He’s got Frenchie up in the air, and up in the opposite corner, facing the crowd. Brawn climbing up behind him, all the way to the top rope.
Finn: Brawn lifting Frenchie up, so now they’re both standing on the top rope. Rear waist lock applied.
Finn: Frenchie countering with elbows, forcing Brawn to relax his grip.
Finn: Frenchie now dropping between Brawn and the ringpost, now he’s got the Wrought Iron Kid on his shoulders.
Finn: Electric chair drop!
Finn: Brawn is down on the mat, caught completely off guard by that turn of events, and Pierre is scaling the ropes. The Flying Frenchie living up to his name, sailing off the top rope…
Finn: Guillotine Legdrop!
Finn: One!
Finn: Two!
Finn: Kickout! Kickout! Brawn kicked out of the Guilotine Legdrop!
Finn: It’s Frenchie’s turn to be flustered. A little back and forth with the ref about the count, and he’s got Brawn’s legs. Turns him over…Cannes Cloverleaf.
Finn: Pierre wrenching the hold in, while Brawn tries his damndest to fight out of it.
Zhuk: Fat chance there. The kid should count his blessings that he kicked out of the Guillotine.
Finn: Brawn struggling, he’s trying to pull Pierre towards the ropes.
Finn: Scratch “trying”, he is! Brawn pulling Frenchie closer to the ropes. The bottom rope is almost in reach.
Finn: He’s got it! The official forcing Frenchie to break the hold, and ordering Frenchie to back off until Brawn is back off the mat.
Finn: The official giving the all clear for the bout to continue, and Brawn streaks towards Frenchie, looking for a Brawnside Blast, but that’s countered by the dreaded DTH!
Zhuk: That move is still banned in parts of the world.
Finn: As well it should be.
Finn: With Brawn facedown on the mat, Frenchie mounts him with a camel clutch. That’s not one you see everyday from Pierre.
Zhuk: Two purposes, Finn. Wear down Brawn, while giving Pierre a chance to recover from some of the beating Brawn laid on him.
Finn: Brawn powering out of the hold, gets back to his feet, and is met with a kick to the gut from Frenchie.
Finn: Waistlock applied, and Pierre hits him with the Time Bomb.
Finn: No cover from Pierre, whose opting instead to reapply the Cannes Cloverleaf.
Zhuk; Look at how Pierre’s leaning back, really applying the pressure.
Finn: Brawn looks just about ready to throw in the towel.
Finn: Frenchie demanding the ref ask Brawn about submitting, and Brawn just shaking his head, not even waiting for the ref to ask. Brawn pounding on the mat with closed fists, trying to psyche himself up.
Finn: Brawn now crawling towards the ropes again, and somehow moving a lot faster than he did last time. He’s got the ropes, but before the ref can break it up, gives another good pull, and both men are back on the floor.
Finn: Frenchie up first, kicking at Brawn, but the Wrought Iron Kid ignoring the blows. Headbutt to Frenchie! Whip to the barrier, reversed, now Brawn sent careening into us!
Zhuk: Well, our table.
Finn: Frenchie rushes in, throwing punches, but he’s not exactly well known for his mastery of fisticuffs.
Zhuk: Brawn making him pay with much harder punches.
Finn: Pierre staggers backwards, and now charging Brawn.
Finn: Back body drop by the Wrought Iron Kid! Pierre writhing on the ground. Our referee’s earlier count may have been generously slow, but the pace has quickened here. Already at seven!
Finn: Brawn grabs Pierre and tosses him back into the ring, sliding in himself just before the ten.
Finn: Brawn lifts Frenchie into the air, and military presses him. Impressive physicality, punctuated by an powerslam.
Finn: One!
Finn: Two!
Finn: Kickout, and Brawn comes up clutching his back. I think all of that time stuck in the Cloverleaf is catching up to him.
Finn: Frenchie back up, and he’s letting kicks fly wildly at Brawn’s side and back. Brawn’s looking like he’s having trouble defending himself.
Finn: Pierre ducks out to the apron, grabs hold of the top rope, springboard hurricanrana! But Brawn does not flip!
Zhuk: Damn!
Finn: Brawn brings Frenchie back up on this shoulders, aiming a powerbomb.
Finn: No! Brawn’s back must have betrayed him, as he shimmies with Frenchie on his shoulders. Frenchie tries again for the rana, and this time Brawn goes down.
Finn: Hook of the legs for Pierre. One!
Finn: Two!
Finn: Three!
Finn: The Flying Frenchie held on by the skin of his teeth, and retains the Internet Title against a very game Brawn. If Brawn is able to sort himself out of the mess he’s in with Superstar Vince Jacobs, I would be stunned if he doesn’t take another shot at Frenchie. He nearly walked out of this bout a two-time Internet Champion.
Zhuk: That’s the sort of loss that keeps you up at night. Brawn took Frenchie to his absolute limit in that ring, and came up short.
Finn: That’s it for this week’s Wednesday Webcast. Please join us next week, on fwowrestling.com.
Winner: The Flying Frenchie (Pinfall, retains Internet Title)
